Penalty dropped Heikkilä to seventh from fourth after Friday

ree

Mikko Heikkilä is seventh after the Friday’s competitive day in the WRC2 category at Delfi Rally Estonia. The Finn was running fourth in the category before the day-ending Elva Linn stage, but a jump start penalty dropped the Skoda-driver to seventh.

Mikko Heikkilä and co-driver Kristian Temonen are seventh in the WRC2 standings at the Delfi Rally Estonia after Friday. The Skoda driver was running a fine fourth before the day-ending super special, but a jump start and the consequent 10 second time penalty dropped the Finn to seventh.

-Not quite our day today. We had some good stages as well, but still we lost a bit too much time during the morning. The Estonian boys are really fast here, and we’re running close times with the other Finns. Afternoon was a bit better, but got worse near the end due to the time penalty, Heikkilä summed up.

The Saturday’s goal for the TGS Motorsport driver is to regain the lost time and to climb up the leaderboards in the WRC2.

-We aim to make some slight setup changes and figure out a way to get even ore out of the car. I’m currently close to my limit, Heikkilä said.

Delfi Rally Estonia is held 17th to 20th of July in Estonia. The event consists of 20 special stages and 308,35 special stage kilometres. The event is shown live at Rally.tv
