Mikko Heikkilä has retired from Secto Rally Finland. Heikkilä’s rally ended on afternoon leg’s Västilä 2 when TGS Motorsport driver hit a rock on the driving line ending Heikkilä’s charge.
Mikko Heikkilä and co-driver Kristian Temonen have been forced to retire from Secto Rally Finland. The Skoda-driver was running sixth in WRC2 before SS15 – Västilä 2.
A rock surfaced on the driving line from beneath the gravel. Heikkilä couldn’t avoid the rock, sending the Finn off the road.
-Our exit was almost an identical copy of Rovanperä’s retirement last year. A rock had surfaced right on the racing line and ruts, and we couldn’t avoid it, Heikkilä lamented.
-This is obviously a massive disappointment for us. I’m sorry for the team, our partners, and the fans along the stages and at home, Heikkilä said.
