Mikko Heikkilä is running eight overall in the third round of European Rally Championship ERC afte two competitive days. The three-day event ends on Sunday, which consists of eight special stages.

Mikko Heikkilä, 31, and his co-driver Samu Vaaleri, 26, are running eight in the third round of the ERC after two competitive days. Heikkilä, who struggled with the setup of his car, had a tough day.

The rally started on Friday with a short special stage on which Heikkilä was eleventh fastest. Heikkilä started Saturday with a third fastest time, but issues with the oversteer of his car dropped the Finn sixth by the time of day’s service.

-The car is sliding so much, yet the tire isn’t showing signs of wear. The car also feels way too soft. I’m pushing hard, but I can’t go much faster without taking many risks, Heikkilä said.

The setup of the car was changed in the service, but it didn’t have an effect Heikkilä hoped for. After the second leg of the day, Heikkilä was running eight.

-No big changes in the performance there. The car still feels soft, even though we’ve gone through every screw. I’m frustrated. I’m pushing so much but it doesn’t have an effect. We got to figure something out during the night.

Heikkilä heads into the final day of the rally in eight position. Sunday consists of eight special stages and 78,22 special stage kilometres.
